Time for Dresden – City Jubilee 2006

Dresden, the capital of the Free State of Saxony, is celebrating its 8ooth anniversary this year.

The city, its residents, visitors and friends celebrates 800 years of Saxon history, economy, science and culture. Several festivities, events and project in diverse areas offer an exciting jubilee program all through the year.

One of the highlights is going to take place on 27 August 2006 – the eventful history of the city of Dresden will be displayed in a pageant. Starting from the first Slavonic settlement 500 AD. over the first mention as a city in a medieval document to the presence, 3000 people and more than 200 horses will explain the city’s history in emotional and entertaining moments.
