Priorities in IT for German enterprises: cost reduction and security
16 percent of the companies in Germany see cost reduction and 14 percent security improvement in IT as the most important aims for the two coming years. This is the result of a survey of the Experton Group. 465 companies were interviewed between January and June 2006. Altogether more than 100 different priorities have been stated. This large variety is the outcome of surveying IT departements of many different sectors disregarding their size. Consolidation, standardization and optimization are also subjects that most German companies are going to focus on as those terms belong to the TOP 10 listed challenges. Furthermore, IT-business-alignment, networking, flexibility, enterprise content management systems, voice over IP, innovation and business value have been identified as fields of IT-investement in the near future.
