3rd Dresden Future Forum
On Thursday June 5, 2008 a group of scientists, experts, entrepreneurs and other interested parties took a trip into the world of tomorrow on the initiative of Dresden-based T-Systems Multimedia Solutions GmbH at the 3rd Dresden Future Forum “Living in a Digital World” hosted at the International Congress Center in Dresden. 2nd Dresden Future Forum
T-Systems Multimedia Solutions’ second Dresden Future Forum, held on 16 November 2006, was attended by about 300 visitors. In keeping with the previous year, the forum’s aim was to present and discuss different perspectives on the development of the Internet as well as life and the world of business in a global digital context. The event, hosted by Prof. Joachim Niemeier, Honorary Professor at the University of Stuttgart, featured talks given by four world-class experts on the subject, Prof. Richard Scase, Dr. Curtis R. Along with the Internet technology itself, the 1st Dresden Future Forum focused particularly on the effects of that technology’s use. How will the current developments influence our lives and our work? What will it take to prepare us humans for life in a digitised world? What demands will our education system face, for example? Which business models make sense, what standards are necessary? Although the limited scope of a one-day event allowed no more than a brief spotlight to be cast on these issues, it quickly became clear that the subjects presented here both caused and merited much discussion and will continue to do so. more…
